Fronton
The Fronton Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) is a regional appellation located in the departments of Haute-Garonne, Tarn, and Garonne, between Toulouse and Montauban. The Fronton vineyard covers an area of 2,400 hectares.

The vineyards of Fronton wine are planted on varied soils: the "boulbènes," which are alluvial deposits (pebbles, gravel, sand, and silt) originating from the Massif Central region, drained by the Tarn River and its tributaries, and characterized by a high silica content and the absence of limestone; the "rougets," clay-loam soils containing up to 30% clay; and graves, consisting of numerous stones and gravel on the surface and clay deeper down.

If Fronton wines are inimitable, it is because they feature a primary grape variety that is a “world exclusive”: Negrette, which is now grown only in the Fronton region. An elite grape variety, Negrette produces an aromatic and structured Fronton wine, but has undoubtedly been abandoned elsewhere due to its particularly capricious nature. It took all the qualities of the terroir, along with the stubbornness and tenacity of the Fronton winemakers, to preserve this tradition to this day. Fronton wines are therefore exclusively red or rosé wines, of which Domaine Le Roc offers excellent examples.
