(2014 Vintage Notes)

Made from grapes grown on the finest plots situated on a gravelly ridge, Mont Aureolus is a complex, powerful, and well-balanced wine. The blend of Negrette and Syrah combines fruitiness with a racy character, all with great finesse.

About the estate:

A former brickworks manager, Nicolas Gélis successfully transitioned into winemaking in the Frontonnais region; he successively acquired three châteaux—Ferran (1994), Montauriol (1998), and Cahuzac (2008)—and established a wine trading business. With over 100 hectares of vineyards across diverse terroirs, he has become a staple of the appellation, with Laurent Fadat overseeing winemaking.
