Château Plaisance

Château Plaisance is the estate of the Penavayre family, who have been growing grapes in Vacquiers for several generations, in the heart of the Fronton and Vin de Pays du Comté Tolosan appellations. The estate was taken over and expanded by Marc Penavayre in 1991, as he took over from his father, Louis. Château Plaisance now comprises 30 hectares of vineyards.

In the early 2000s, Château Plaisance refocused on gentle cultivation techniques, working the vines in harmony with the terroir, without fertilizers or herbicides, favoring natural products, harvesting very ripe, very healthy, sorted grapes, and winemaking guided by the idea of “letting the land speak.” Following this principle, the wines ferment using natural yeasts present on the grape skins, which ensure the varietal character of the grapes.

Château Plaisance has been officially certified organic since the 2011 vintage (QUALITE France SAS FR BIO 10)
