Lot Coast
Wines from the Côtes du Lot appellation were awarded the IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) designation in 2011. The appellation’s terroir is located in southwestern France, near the Cahors appellation, with which it partially overlaps without being confused with it, as the Côtes du Lot IGP is subject to specific regulations.

The Côtes du Lot appellation is thus situated on the vast limestone plateaus of the Causses du Quercy and benefits from an oceanic climate tempered by continental influences and the presence of the two major rivers that cross it: the Dordogne and the Lot.

The Côtes du Lot PGI is reserved for still red, rosé, and white wines produced in the geographical area, as well as white and rosé sparkling wines that are also made there, albeit on a small scale. The red and white wines are blended from Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Ségalin, Gamay, and Merlot grape varieties. The white wines use Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Viognier, Semillon, or Chenin grapes. The red wines of the Côtes du Lot can be enjoyed young; the rosés have a deep color and offer tart aromas, while the white wines present wine lovers with more complex aromatic profiles. The wines from Château du Cèdre are a fine example of what the Côtes du Lot terroir has to offer.
