Château Lagrézette
The history of Château Lagrézette, listed as a historic monument since 1982, dates back to the 12th century. This 90-hectare estate has become an emblem of Cahors wines thanks to investments made by Alain-Dominique Perrin, a businessman and art lover, since the 1980s. He replanted the Château Lagrézette vineyard with malbec (then planted with hybrid vines), the Cadurcian region's flagship grape variety, to restore the château's wines to their former glory. The prestigious cuvée Dame Honneur is a tribute to Marguerite de Massaut, the first female owner of Château Lagrézette, in the 16th century, when Cahors was on every royal table.

The Château Lagrézette vineyard is made up of 3 distinct terroirs. The Terrasses du Lot is planted with 85% Malbec, 13% Merlot and 2% Tannat on clay-limestone soil. Planted exclusively with Malbec, the estate has 20 hectares of gravelly clay-loam terroir. North of Cahors, the Rocamadour terroir offers clay-limestone soil with a mix of white and red grapes.
