Château Lagrézette
The history of Château Lagrézette, designated a historic monument in 1982, dates back to the 12th century. This 90-hectare estate has become a symbol of Cahors wines thanks to the investments made by Alain-Dominique Perrin, a businessman and art lover, since the 1980s. He replanted the Château Lagrézette vineyard with Malbec—the region’s flagship grape variety—replacing the hybrid vines that had previously been planted there, in order to restore the château’s wines to their former glory. The prestigious Dame Honneur cuvée is a tribute to Marguerite de Massaut, the first female owner of Château Lagrézette in the 16th century, a time when Cahors wine graced every royal table.

The Château Lagrézette vineyard consists of three distinct terroirs. The Terrasses du Lot are planted with 85% Malbec, 13% Merlot, and 2% Tannat on clay-limestone soil. Planted exclusively with Malbec, the estate has 20 hectares on a gravelly clay-loam terroir. North of Cahors, the Rocamadour terroir features clay-limestone soil and is planted with both white and red grape varieties.
