The Agenais PGI designation covers the entire department of Lot-et-Garonne, with the exception of the municipalities producing the Thézac-Perricard PGI.

The climate in theAgenais IGP wine regionis oceanic, with a wide annual temperature range, although it also benefits from the influence of the Mediterranean climate.

Wines from the Agenais PGI are produced in all three styles, including rich, full-bodied reds (made primarily from Merlot and Cabernet grapes), fresh, fruity whites (Muscadelle, Sauvignon, Sémillon), and fruity, easy-drinking rosés.
