Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the estate:

The Reca family combines dairy sheep farming with viticulture across two farms: Larraldea, in Saint-Just-Ibarre, and Bordaxuria, in Ispoure. As for the vineyards, there are 7.5 hectares of terraced land (currently in the process of converting to organic farming) planted on the steep slopes of the Arradoy. The two estates have been run since 2012 by the Reca sisters: Oihana, Intza, and Elorri. Elorri, who works the vineyards alongside her partner Brice Robelet, ended her collaboration with the Saint-Étienne-de-Baïgorry winery in 2014 to produce her own wines.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

Just one white wine vintage in 2023, made from Gros and Petit Manseng grapes with a touch of Petit Courbu, aged in a variety of vessels, including new oak casks, clay jars, and stainless steel tanks.

About the estate:

After leaving the cooperative in 2014, Elorri Reca and Brice Robelet have been passionately running this small estate, located in a former quarry. The vineyard, certified organic in 2018, spans over 350 meters in elevation, 80% of which is terraced. These young winemakers perform extensive manual labor to get the most out of these highly well-drained red sandstone terroirs. Brice also tends to a plot north of the Rhône Valley, whose grapes are transported across France and vinified in Irouléguy.
