“Intense aromas blending floral notes with hints of black fruit, blackcurrant, prune, and walnut, along with subtle hints of oak and toast. Very dense and vigorous on the palate, offering floral flavors of black fruit, crème de cassis, and kirsch; still young but with exemplary tannins leading to a very long and robust finish. A great wine, but it will be even better after 2025.” (Andreas Larsson)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2026 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)
About the estate:
The Laplace brothers manage this 65-hectare estate and the small wine merchant business attached to it with great dedication. They have successfully adapted the style of local wines to modern demands, striving for greater balance and precision in the winemaking process. They never lack the imagination to create wines with character at very reasonable prices.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
Château d'Aydie is a family business (and a sure bet): four of the Laplace children are now following in the footsteps of their grandfather Frédéric, who was one of the first to sell Madiran by the bottle, with the help of André Daguin, the famous Gascon chef. In addition to the estate, which covers 62 hectares, the family has established a wine trading business.

Wine Enthusiast
Wine rated (2022 guide) 93/100
Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Wine Enthusiast)
About the wine:
Dense and nearing maturity, this is a deeply ripe wine. The dark fruit and dry stone notes are about to soften into a generous, richly textured wine. This wine from the Laplace family estate is destined to age further. Best enjoyed starting in 2023.
