They have successfully adapted the style of local wines to contemporary demands, seeking greater balance and precision in the winemaking process. They never lack imagination when it comes to creating wines with character at very reasonable prices.

About the estate:

Château d'Aydie is a family business (and a sure bet): four of the Laplace children are now following in the footsteps of their grandfather Frédéric, who was one of the first to sell Madiran by the bottle, with the help of André Daguin, the famous Gascon chef. In addition to the vineyard, which covers 62 hectares, the family has established a wine trading business.

A slight liveliness on the palate gives way to a round, full-bodied, and velvety mouthfeel, marked by rich flavors that echo the nose (yellow fruits, citrus, honeyed notes, and a hint of vanilla). Surprisingly long finish, enlivened by a subtle bitterness. An affordable alternative to pair with festive foie gras, or just as well with a pavlova topped with exotic fruits. Rating = 3.9.
