2*Coup de Coeur

Hachette

"A sure bet for this vintage, which is not its first favorite. The color is ruby with beautiful orange highlights. The nose combines finesse and elegance around ripe fruit enhanced by spicy, roasted, and toasted notes from the aging process. The palate is particularly aromatic and delicious. It is supported by silky, fine tannins and a restrained freshness that gives this very well-balanced wine a beautiful persistence and dynamism." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2019)

About wine:

A sure bet for this vintage, which is not its first favorite. The color is ruby with beautiful orange highlights. The nose combines finesse and elegance around ripe fruit enhanced by spicy, roasted, and toasted notes brought by the aging process. The palate is particularly aromatic and delicious. It is supported by silky, fine tannins and a restrained freshness that gives this very well-balanced wine a beautiful persistence and dynamism.

About the estate:

Puy-Servain is the name of the locality and means "summit" (puy) and "windy" (servain). Daniel Hecquet was an oenologist at the famous Château d'Yquem before returning to the family estate in Ponchapt, which now has 47 hectares of vines. He is a pillar of the Bergerac region for his Montravel and Haut-Montravel wines.

A soft, insipid side, reminiscent of a technological wine. It may have been flattering at one point, but it doesn't hold up!
