About the estate:
The Laplace brothers manage this 65-hectare estate and the small wine merchant business attached to it with great dedication. They never lack the imagination to create wines with character at very reasonable prices.

Rated estate Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
Château d'Aydie is a family business (and a sure bet): four of the Laplace children are now following in the footsteps of their grandfather Frédéric, who was one of the first to sell Madiran by the bottle, with the help of André Daguin, the famous Gascon chef. In addition to the vineyard, which covers 62 hectares, the estate has expanded to include a wine merchant operation.

A slight liveliness on the palate gives way to a round, full-bodied, and velvety mouthfeel, marked by rich flavors that echo the nose (yellow fruits, citrus, honeyed notes, and a hint of vanilla). Surprisingly long-lasting, enlivened by a subtle bitterness. An affordable alternative for a festive foie gras, or equally well paired with a pavlova featuring exotic fruits. Rating = 3.9.

I can't for the life of me recall the rave tasting notes that made me buy this wine. Maybe it was just a "bad" bottle.
