"Its gray slate soil gives it its name, 'Tonschiefer,' and lends it an explosive minerality!"

“Vibrant aromas of white peach and white flowers are paired with intense, slate-like minerality in this dry Riesling from the Nahe, which is both elegant and precise. It is fairly structured, though only moderately full-bodied. Wonderful stony intensity in the very long, luminous finish. Drink now or celller. Screw cap. ” (James Suckling 2024)

About the wine:

Dönnhoff's 2023 Riesling Tonschiefer trocken is clear and herbaceous on the nose, with an intense, fresh, and spicy character. The charming fruit comes through on the palate, which is round, lush, fruity, and elegant, with a fine, elegant acidity and a clean, fresh, and flavorful finish. This is a fine, serious Riesling from the Nahe region, bottled with a screw cap and a stated alcohol content of 12%. Tasted in October 2024. 2024–2032

About the wine:

The intense fruitiness of the bouquet invites you to taste the wine. Subtle notes of stone fruit. The juicy, slightly salty attack gives way to a fruity, harmonious, refreshing, and lively wine. A real success! Cellar until 2038
