Both refined and powerful, the nose reveals a lovely freshness with musky and white floral notes. This freshness carries over to the palate, along with a hint of minerality. The bouquet is delicate, with balsamic notes on the finish. A wonderful introduction!

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide): 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable production, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
This 7-hectare estate cultivates most of its vineyards on the slopes of the Zinnkoepflé Grand Cru and in the surrounding area. Unsurprisingly, Gewürztraminers take center stage at the estate, but in 2015, the Pinot Noirs also made a strong showing. The 2016 vintages are successful, particularly the Gewürztraminer and Riesling. The 2017 vintages are a solid group overall, with the exception of the Gewürztraminer from the Grand Cru, which is overly marked by its residual sugar.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2020 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the estate:
It began as a small plot tended on Sundays by Jean-Marie’s grandfather, a potash miner. Today, it is a 7-hectare estate in the heart of the Vallée Noble, 20 km south of Colmar, which has been run by Jean-Marie Haag since 1988. It produces beautiful terroir-driven wines, notably the Gewürztraminers grown on the Zinnkoepflé Grand Cru, a majestic hillside sheltered by the Grand and Petit Ballon.

Selected Wineries (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the wineries listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the excellence of French winemaking.)
About the estate:
Located in Soultzmatt, in the heart of the Vallée Noble, the estate is centered around the Zinnkoepflé grand cru. The terroir-driven wines are generally of fine quality, with the full-bodied character typical of this area south of Colmar.
