"The oldest cru in Alsace with remarkable finesse!
"The perfect balance between concentration, mineral elegance and youthful freshness makes this great Alsace dry Riesling as delicious as it is captivating. As it airs, you get closer to the soul of the peach. There's nothing spectacular about this beauty, but get carried away by its long, extremely refined finish and you won't miss the huge statement it makes." (James Suckling 2025)

Wine rated (2026 guide) 93/100
5-star rated estates (Outstanding producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)
About the domain :
Cathy Faller works as a family, accompanied by her sons Eddy and Théo. The vast vineyard produces fruity wines of excellent constitution and finesse. The great wines are those of the surrounding hillsides: the Furstentum and Altenbourg grands crus and the Schlossberg, brilliant in its crystalline interpretation of Riesling. The 2019 takeover of Domaine Gérard Fuchs (in Sigolsheim) has enabled us to expand by six hectares, including two in the Furstentum grand cru. Ideal for satisfying unabated global demand. An institution.

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 3*Stars (They represent the excellence of the French vineyard. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wines is always a magical experience)
About the domain :
Le Clos des Capucins is one of those magical, elusive, timeless places. It's rare to find a place with so much energy and history, producing wines of such purity. Assisted by her two sons, Eddy and Théo, Catherine Faller is at the head of the estate, deploying a rare energy to keep the quality of the wines at the highest level and maintain a warm welcome to the domaine. Her son Théo devotes a great deal of attention to the vines, which have been biodynamically cultivated throughout the estate since 2005, while Ghislain Berthiot, who has been with the family for several years, is in charge of vinification. Eddy supports his mother on the sales side. This is one of the finest expressions of the Schlossberg Grand Cru, at different levels of ripeness. Its limpidity and precision astound us, often approaching perfection. Gewurztraminer finds its preferred terroirs in the surrounding area. The domaine has just bought 6 hectares of vines, including 1 hectare in the Furstentum Grand Cru.

About the wine:
Very rich and powerful, extremely concentrated. With a grainy, refreshing finish.

About the wine:
The Riesling Schlossberg Grand Cru 2023 still shows a touch of youthful yeast, which is quite understandable for a wine bottled last week. Yet a touch of lemon zest is irrepressible. The palate is perfectly clean. This is stone in the rough: pure, brilliant, very dry and uncompromising. The mouth continues to salivate, aided by a beautiful salinity. (Very dry)
