Hailing from the Altenbourg vineyard, located just below the Furstentum grand cru, this Pinot Noir invites you to discover its intense color and complex, deep nose, with notes of black cherries and a hint of forest floor. It reveals notes of juicy red fruits and ripe grapes, with supple and velvety tannins, as well as a round and full-bodied texture. Beautiful balance and concentration, leading to a deep texture and ending with a long finish. It pairs perfectly with lamb, game, or grilled red meats! • Please note: limited quantities available.

Bettane & Desseauve
5-Star Estate (Exceptional producers who represent the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and around the world)
About the estate:
Cathy Faller works alongside her sons, Eddy and Théo. The expansive vineyard produces fruit-forward wines of excellent structure and great finesse. The estate’s finest wines come from the surrounding hillsides: the Grand Cru wines Furstentum and Altenbourg, and the Schlossberg, which shines with its crystalline expression of Riesling. The 2019 acquisition of the Gérard Fuchs estate (in Sigolsheim) added six hectares to the property, including two on the Furstentum grand cru. This expansion is ideal for meeting the unflagging global demand. A true institution.

Rated estate (2023 guide) 3*Stars (These represent the pinnacle of French winemaking. The finest terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical experience)
About the estate:
Le Clos des Capucins is one of those magical, elusive, and timeless places. It is rare to find a place with such energy and history, producing wines of such purity. Supported by her two sons, Eddy and Théo, Catherine Faller leads the estate, devoting rare energy to maintaining the highest quality of the wines and ensuring a warm welcome at the estate. Her son Théo pays close attention to the vineyards, which have been cultivated biodynamically across the entire estate since 2005, while Ghislain Berthiot, who has been with the estate for several years, is in charge of winemaking. Eddy assists his mother with the business side of things. Here, one can taste one of the finest expressions of the Schlossberg grand cru, at various stages of maturity. Its clarity and precision are impressive, often approaching perfection. Gewürztraminer finds its ideal terroirs in the surrounding area. The estate has just acquired 6 hectares of vineyards, including 1 hectare of the Furstentum grand cru.
