"Bubbly Alsace"

A wonderful Crémant d'Alsace made exclusively from Pinot Blanc, combining freshness and balance. With its concentrated flavors of green apple, lemon, white flowers, pear, and delicate brioche notes, its fine, lively bubbles make it the perfect accompaniment to oysters and appetizers, as well as sushi and light poultry dishes!

Rated 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Alongside his wine-trading venture in South Africa, Julien Schaal founded his Alsatian business in 2011—a highly original endeavor, as it is exclusively a wine-trading operation based on the purchase of grapes from Grand Cru vineyards. Currently, nine grand cru wines are on the list, representing just about every type of soil in the region, and the selection consists solely of Riesling, with the exception of a Gewürztraminer from Osterberg and a blend from Altenberg de Bergheim. In a blind tasting, his 2017 vintages blew us away. Hats off!

About the wine:

A neutral yet pleasant nose and texture. A simple yet well-crafted sparkling wine, with a finish that lingers longer than the palate would suggest. What more could you ask for in an Alsatian Pinot Blanc? (JR)

Wine rated (2026 guide) 89/100

About the wine:

This Crémant d'Alsace Extra Brut NV is from the 2022 vintage; it is a blend composed mainly of Pinot Blanc and a small proportion of Chardonnay, which spent 26 months on the lees. The Chardonnay is grown on granite soils. It was disgorged in August 2025 with a dosage of 5 grams per liter. The nose is wonderfully pure, with notes of Conference pear sorbet, fresh and lively. The palate is smooth, lively, and creamy. (Very dry)
