“Torbreck’s flagship wine—a ripe, round, and smooth red!”

“Opaque ruby color. Lush aromas of black berries and fruitcake are complemented by hints of candied flowers and spices. Crisp and concentrated on the attack, it becomes fuller-bodied on the mid-palate, offering flavors of blackberry, cherry, and allspice, along with a hint of cola. The finish is very long and smooth, with tannins that develop slowly and offer a gentle grip. 2024–2032” (Vinous 2021)

Wine rated (2024 guide) 94/100

About wine:

This GSM blend is well-integrated, rich, and spicy, with ripe, fleshy notes of black plum, blackberry, and black cherry, along with hints of plum skin, cinnamon, and heady, waxy lily of the valley. Velvety smooth and wonderfully drinkable, it was aged for 20 months on fine lees in 4,500-liter French oak casks. 2024–2028

About wine:

Ripe, round, and supple, the 2018 Torbreck The Steading was aged in large oak casks, resulting in minimal oak influence. Cherries and mixed berries abound, intertwined with hints of caramel, as well as savory notes of dried herbs, espresso, and black olives. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, it is smooth and easy to drink, yet has enough concentration to age for several more years. 2021–2026
