"A robust, fruity, and delicious Syrah, according to James Suckling!"
"This wine has a true Syrah character with ripe strawberries and sweet tobacco with hints of bark and nuts. A little tile too. Spicy. Medium-bodied, with lots of juicy fruit and a delicious finish. A solid Syrah. Drink now. Screw cap." (James Suckling 2022) • Screw cap

About wine:
The 2021 Hunter Valley Shiraz is reduced on opening, but it opens up in the glass with a little swirling. There are notes of black pepper, pink pepper, lots of fresh, spicy acidity, sumac, iodine, poached strawberries, and star anise. The acidity has a nettle flavor that I find very pleasant, but I think what the wine really needs is a little air. If you can give it a little air—either in your glass or in a decanter—I think the wine will be even more enjoyable. It has beautiful fruit, but it's very lively right now. 13.5% alcohol, screw cap. 2023-2033

A well-ripened Syrah dominated by spices, giving it a monolithic character.

Light to medium-deep ruby color. On the nose, red fruit and forest fruits, hints of eucalyptus and spice. Also some earthiness. Expressive and quite complex. On the palate, crisp red fruit, red berries, and raspberries, with fine acidity providing grip and freshness. Pure, juicy, crisp, full-bodied, character, balance, and conviction. More elegant than rich or opulent. Pure Shiraz fruit with notes of terroir. A wonderful glass. I love this. Score: 16.5+/20
