Hunter Valley
Hunter Valley is located about a two-hour drive north of Sydney, in New South Wales. This region produces less than 2% of Australia’s wine but is home to some of the country’s oldest winemaking families.
It was with the construction of the first roads that the first vineyards were planted in the Hunter Valley in the early 1820s.
Sémillon is the grape variety that put the Hunter Valley on the international map, but thanks to a climate similar to that of the Mediterranean, other grape varieties have also found a home in the region, notably Syrah (Shiraz), Chardonnay, and Verdelho.
