“A vibrant 100% Chardonnay offering excellent value for money!”
“Crisp, mineral, and taut, a hint of briny acidity and phenolic compounds runs through the heart of this wine and carries it all the way to the finish. This 2021 Filius Chardonnay represents the crisp, vibrant end of the Chardonnay spectrum, not only within the Vasse Felix style but also within the regional context. This is an intelligently crafted, straightforward Chardonnay. I love the salty nuts on the finish. 2022–2027” (Robert Parker 2022) • Screw cap

About the wine:
Your savings might not be quite enough to buy this winery’s Premier Estate and Heytesbury Chardonnays, but the Filius offers incredible value for money. This vintage features lively acidity and a wild yeast aroma of warm hay that blends with ripe melon, crisp nectarine, and lemon balm. Delicate yet concentrated, with subtle creamy notes of oak and toasted nuts. 2023–2030

Winery of the Year (2018 Guide)
About the wine:
The entry-level Chardonnay from Margaret River’s oldest winery is a real bargain and makes for an excellent introduction to this Western Australian style. Delicate, perfectly integrated notes of lightly toasted hazelnut and cream take center stage, with a hint of salty sea breeze. Notes of pineapple, melon, and candied lemon play supporting roles. It is beautifully balanced, with crisp acidity neatly counterbalancing the weight of the texture. This wine has been crafted with care and expertise, and it is perfectly drinkable right now.
About the estate:
Vasse Felix is the first winery in Margaret River and Western Australia to receive the award from the American publication, surpassing wineries from major international regions—including Stellenbosch (De Toren), Auckland (Kumeu River), Argentina (Trapiche), and Chile (Vina Ventisquero)—to claim the coveted honor.

About the wine:
A white wine with robust fruitiness, featuring white peaches, apples, and notes of vanilla and oak. A medium-bodied wine with a creamy texture and a savory finish. There’s a lot going on here. Drink now or celller. Screw cap.
James Halliday - Wine Companion
Wine rated 90/100
About the wine:
For a Chardonnay that reflects the region’s characteristics—and perhaps a touch of the winery’s style—it works well. It’s well-crafted, balancing citrus, stone fruit, and spice notes with a hint of funky sulfur and subtle oak. The texture is also good, and it’s a wine you can enjoy without overthinking it.
