"This could well be one of the best Heytesburys according to Wine Advocate Robert Parker!"
The Heytesbury Chardonnay 2022 is lighter, fresher, and more refined than anything I remember from Heytesbury when it was first released. This wine made a name for itself in the mid-2000s due to its very solid fermentation, flinty reduction, and abundant spices. Today, I feel like the style has slowly come back to the middle, presenting us with an infinitely composed, powerful, sober, yet kaleidoscopic wine in its fruit profile. I'm not one for grandiose statements like "the best ever," but this wine may well be one of the best Heytesburys I've had the pleasure of tasting upon release, and that's a statement that pays tribute to the 2010 and 2013 vintages. 2024-2038." About wine:
An intensely complex and inviting nose with aromas of burnt lemon zest, grapefruit peel, orange blossom, and gunpowder. The medium-bodied palate has a mouthfeel and lively acidity, with notes of lime zest, mandarin pulp, fresh pineapple, and biscuits. Multidimensional and generous with underlying tension. Exceptional. Drink now or cellar. Screw cap.
