"This wine could very well be the best dry white wine produced to date in the Beaujolais region... (James Suckling)"
“[...]. This wine may well be the best dry white wine produced to date in the Beaujolais region. The captivating nose of chamomile and fresh garden herbs gently draws you into the creamy, medium-bodied palate, which is wonderfully delicate. The interplay of silky acidity and subtle limestone minerality gives the long finish a charisma rarely found in white wines from this region. Made from two plots planted on clay-limestone soil near the village of Blace.” (James Suckling 2024)

Selected Estates (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)
About the estate:
Over the course of just a few vintages, the duo of Sébastien Dupré and Guillaume Goujon has established a confident and ambitious style. Longtime friends, they honed their skills under Frédéric Pourtalié at the Montcalmès estate for eight years, taking over from his cousin Vincent Guizard. After gaining some experience, they released their first vintage in 2015 with the iconic 6.3.1 cuvée, a blend from their vineyards (60% L’Héronde, 30% Le Pavé, 10% Brûlhier).

Review by Mr. MATHIEU W. Published on January 12, 2025
On the nose: pure Chardonnay fruit, grapefruit, citrus, minerality, indigenous yeasts, and a hint of beeswax. On the palate: lovely ripe white and yellow fruit; expressive, juicy, full-bodied, creamy, with a tingling acidity that creates crisp and mouth-watering impressions—a pure Chardonnay delight. Long finish. This is an outstanding Beaujolais Blanc with character and conviction. Score: 16.5/20
