Château Lacaussade Saint-Martin
Château Lacaussade Saint-Martin in the Bordeaux region has been owned by Jacques Chardat since 1991. The vineyard is located along the Gironde estuary, just opposite the Médoc Grands Crus Classés. The vines of Château Lacaussade Saint Martin arelocated on the first hillsides bordering the river and benefit from both mild temperatures and extraordinary light.

The vineyard of Château Lacaussade Saint-Martin extends over the famous limestone vein that runs from Blaye straight north, along the Gironde estuary. With a surface layer of a few dozen centimeters of gray clay mixed with limestone pebbles and superb sea urchin fossils, it is a poor terroir, ideal for Merlot and Cabernet vines.

Great determination and an awareness of the extraordinary nature of the terroir prompted Jacques Chardat to take on the Château Lacaussade Saint-Martin vineyard with the aim of producing Premières Côtes de Blaye wines full of charm and grandeur.
