Montfollet Castle
Château Montfollet is located in the heart of the best terroirs of the Blaye appellation, in the Bordeaux region. This family-owned property of forty hectares of vines is located on the clay-gravel and clay-limestone hillsides overlooking the Gironde estuary. Château Montfollet has belonged to the Raimond family for three generations.

Today, keen to reveal the potential of these magnificent terroirs while respecting the environment, Dominique Raimond, a passionate winegrower, uses every technical means at his disposal to make Château Montfollet a truly great wine. The stages of viticultural work meet multiple requirements: reducing the vigor of the vines while ensuring their sustainability, promoting the ripening of the grapes, respecting the surrounding flora and fauna, cultivating the soil under the rows, and allowing natural grass growth between the rows. Pruning is severe, and leaf removal and thinning allow the grapes to ripen to perfection. Finally, disease and pest control is carried out in a sustainable manner in order to preserve the environment and the vineyards of Château Montfollet.

As the harvest approaches, daily monitoring determines the optimal harvest date, plot by plot. At Château Montfollet, the winemaking process is supervised by the cellar master, a qualified oenologist from Bordeaux, assisted by Christian Veyry, a renowned consultant oenologist in the Bordeaux region.
