Wine rated (2023 guide) 90/100
About wine:
A captivating aroma of violet flowers, black cherry, and blackcurrant, with subtle hints of mint. Supple and succulent, this wine immediately bursts with life and energy, with bright acidity and a rush of red and black fruits edged with a mineral note and wet stone. The tannins are very fine and well integrated, giving a medium-bodied structure with a soft, velvety, powdery texture on the finish. Delicately deep and persistent with lots of freshness. It is accessible and is now at a good stage for drinking. 2023-2027

Wine rated (2019 guide) 88/100
About wine:
This 2016 is a very nice entry-level wine from Clarence Dillon's Clarendelle brand. Black cherry, mocha, and spices are omnipresent. Expressive floral notes add a final touch of freshness to round it all off. The 2016 is an everyday wine, graceful and wonderful.

About wine:
All these "Clarendelle" wines are the brainchild of Haut Brion and are perfect for short-term consumption. Although I was unable to obtain the price, I am certain that the Clarendelle Bordeaux 2016 will represent excellent value for money. Composed of 84% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc, it offers a balanced, attractive, medium-bodied style with plenty of black cherry, cedar, graphite, and subtle floral notes. Buy a case and drink it over the next decade.
