Wine rated (2023 guide) 90/100
About the wine:
A captivating aroma of violet flowers, black cherry, and blackcurrant, with soft hints of mint. Supple and luscious, this wine immediately displays vibrancy and energy, with brilliant acidity and a burst of red and black fruits framed by mineral and wet-stone notes. The tannins are very fine and exceptionally well-integrated, providing a medium-bodied structure with a soft, velvety, and powdery texture on the finish. Delicately deep and lingering, with plenty of freshness. It is approachable and is currently at a good stage for drinking. 2023–2027

Wine rated (2019 guide) 88/100
About the wine:
This 2016 is a lovely entry-level wine from Clarence Dillon’s Clarendelle brand. Black cherry, mocha, and spices are prominent. Expressive floral notes add a final touch of freshness to round out the wine. The 2016 is an everyday wine—graceful and wonderful.

About the wine:
All of these “Clarendelle” wines are the result of Haut-Brion’s expertise and are perfect for drinking in the near future. Although I was unable to obtain the price, I am certain that the 2016 Clarendelle Bordeaux will offer excellent value for the money. Composed of 84% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc, it offers a balanced, elegant, medium-bodied style, along with abundant notes of black cherry, cedar, graphite, and subtle floral hints. Buy a case and enjoy it over the next decade.
