Wine rated (2023 guide) 90/100
About the wine:
A captivating bouquet of violet flowers, black cherry, and blackcurrant, with subtle minty notes. Supple and luscious, this wine immediately bursts with life and energy, featuring bright acidity and a surge of red and black fruits framed by mineral and wet stone notes. The tannins are very fine and well-integrated, providing a medium-bodied structure with a soft, velvety, and powdery texture on the finish. Delicately deep and persistent with plenty of freshness. It is approachable and is currently at a good stage for drinking. 2023–2027

About the wine:
All these "Clarendelle" wines are the brainchild of Haut-Brion and are perfect for drinking young. Although I was unable to obtain the price, I am certain that the 2016 Clarendelle Bordeaux will offer excellent value for money. Composed of 84% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc, it offers a balanced, elegant, and medium-bodied style, along with abundant notes of black cherry, cedar, graphite, and subtle floral nuances. Buy a case and enjoy it over the next decade.
