“ “We are here at the estate of Henri Ducourt, 13 hectares dominated by an 18th-century Carthusian monastery surrounded by a large rose garden featuring over two thousand varieties. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon have given rise to this wine, which offers notes of red fruit with subtle woody undertones; it is supple with good body on the palate.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2015)

Rated estate (2020 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

This beautiful 380-hectare estate is one of the largest in the Bordeaux appellation. It includes Château Larroque, located south of Langon on a beautiful clay-gravel terroir, with a classic blend of grape varieties (45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 25% Cabernet Franc), Château de Beauregard-Ducourt, located south of Targon, with a balanced blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Château La Rose du Pin and Château d'Haurets. The wines are of consistent quality and great classicism. Powerful reds, very aromatic, lively, and refreshing whites, and delicious rosés. A truly beautiful range full of character.

A wine that’s pleasant on the palate, with a not-too-strong aroma: perhaps a bit young
