Médaille d'Or

Gilbert & Gaillard

(2015 Vintage Notes)

An easy-drinking, terroir-driven Bordeaux Supérieur, aged for 12 months in French oak barrels; its beautifully structured, tannic character comes through in a pure, taut expression that is quite rare. On the palate, it reveals crisp fruit with velvety tannins and a lingering freshness within a well-structured profile.

Pretty average, or else it’s best to wait a bit, since the 2016 Bordeaux wines are still hard to appreciate.
