La Freynelle Castle
Owned by Véronique Barthe, Château La Freynelle is part of a group of vineyards that, together with Château Jacquet and Château d'Arcole, cover a total of 80 hectares. Located in the heart of Entre-Deux-Mers in the communes of Targon, Faleyras, Daignac, and Espiet, the plots are planted on clay-limestone hilltops—the hallmark of a great terroir—with rolling terrain characterized by roundness, softness, and balance. They are primarily south-facing. With an average age of 25 years, the vines produce high-quality white and red grapes. The grape varieties consist of 25 hectares of white wines, AOC Bordeaux Blanc: 13 hectares of Sauvignon, 7 hectares of Semillon, and 5 hectares of Muscadelle; 55 hectares of red wines, AOC Bordeaux Rouge: 35 hectares of Merlot, 15 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5 hectares of Petit Verdot.
