I disagree with Henri G., who gave it only a 3/5. At less than €5 a bottle, this Bordeaux Supérieur is a steal. Straightforward and honest like a sly Calvinist, it’s more like a granite monument than a sphere—indeed dense and tight—with aromas of mint and blackcurrant buds, followed by notes on the palate of cinnamon, blackberry, bell pepper (surprising for a Merlot), and leather. Surprising: round tannins for such a young, structured wine. Best enjoyed within two years to fully appreciate its fruity richness.
