Château Penin
Château Penin has been a family-run estate in the Bordeaux region since 1854 (when it was acquired by Louis Carteyron and his son Jacques). For many years, Château Penin’s production was divided between fruit and wine.

Patrick Carteyron, representing the fifth generation, took over Château Penin in 1982 after working as an oenologist for several years. Fruit production was then completely phased out in favor of the vineyard, with a firm focus on quality. Alongside the development of Château Penin’s vineyard, new cellars were built.

The Château Penin vineyard is situated on highly localized gravel soils, between the limestone plateau and the marshlands, on the left bank of the Dordogne River, facing Saint-Emilion. Today, Château Penin cultivates 40 hectares of vineyards within the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation, producing 270,000 bottles annually.
