2*Coup de Coeur

Hachette

“This wine, with its deep color, is a delightful surprise in this vintage. The elegant and straightforward nose releases notes of toasted almond followed by black fruit, with a hint of wildness, where one judge detects the influence of the Cabernets (40%). The palate delights with its round texture and well-structured, already rounded tannins, which remain slightly lively on the finish. While its structure is not imposing—a reflection of the vintage—it charms with its vinous character and finesse.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2016)

About the wine:

This wine, with its deep color, is a delightful surprise in this vintage. The nose, elegant and straightforward, releases notes of toasted almond followed by black fruits, with a hint of wildness, where one judge detects the influence of the Cabernets (40%). The palate delights with its round texture and well-structured, already rounded tannins, which remain slightly lively on the finish. While its structure isn’t imposing—a characteristic of the vintage—it charms with its vinous character and finesse.

About the estate:

As head of Laboratoires, Patrice Bigou manages 30 hectares of vineyards in Targon, in the Entre-deux-Mers region, not far from La Sauve-Majeure. These estates have converted to organic and biodynamic farming. Three châteaux: Saint-Julian, Virecourt-Conté, and La Grangère.
