Château Lamothe de Haux - Valentine 2014
3*Étoile
Hachette
"Although the 2014 vintage was not always easy for the Chombarts, it was particularly successful, as evidenced by this admirable wine, with its deep, brilliant color, to which Merlot (80%) brings a smooth, fruity aroma that blends perfectly with fresher notes of vanilla and menthol. Supple, fleshy, rich, full-bodied and elegant, the palate is supported by sumptuous tannins to create a full-bodied and racy whole." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2018)

About the estate:
The origins of Château Lamothe date back to the 16th century, and it has belonged to the same family since 1956. Currently, the 80-hectare vineyard is managed by Anne Neel and her children, Maria and Damien Chombart. They have expanded the vineyard and built impressive underground cellars. The Valentine cuvée is made with care and respect for classic balances. It spans vintages while remaining true to its style.

About the estate:
Located at the top of a clay-limestone hillside, Lamothe de Haux's vineyards cover 77 hectares, including Ch. Manos, dedicated to Cadillac wines, acquired in 1991. Since 1956 and four generations, the estate has been passed down through the women. Today, it is run by Maria and Damien Chombart.
