Rated estate (2019 guide) Selected (An estate or winery that impressed us with one or more of its wines, though we are unable to offer a general assessment of the style of its entire range)
About the estate:
The origins of Château Lamothe date back to the 16th century, and it has been owned by the same family since 1956. Today, the 80-hectare vineyard is managed by Anne Neel and her children, Maria and Damien Chombart. They have expanded the vineyard and built impressive underground galleries in the cellars. The Valentine cuvée is crafted with care and in keeping with traditional balance. It spans the vintages while remaining true to its style.

About the estate:
Perched atop a clay-limestone hillside, Lamothe de Haux’s vineyards span 77 hectares, including Château Manos—dedicated to the Cadillac grape variety—which was acquired in 1991.
