Millaire Vineyard
A family
It all began when Jean Garnier purchased several plots of land in the 1950s. In 1979, the estate was leased out for 18 years. In January 1998, Jean-Yves Millaire, Jean Garnier’s grandson, took over the family estate. Now joined by his wife Christine, they cultivate some forty hectares spread across three different appellations: AOP Canon Fronsac – AOP Fronsac – AOP Bordeaux.

A land
The Fronsac and Canon-Fronsac appellations are located on the right bank of the Dordogne at the confluence of two rivers (the Dordogne and the Isle). This unique location shields the vineyards and provides them with an ideal climate. The terrain is highly varied, featuring numerous hillsides and clay-limestone soils formed by the erosion of bedrock, ensuring a superb terroir.

A philosophy
Their work as winemakers, focused on quality and respect for the land, naturally led them toward organic and biodynamic farming. Indeed, thanks to cultivation techniques that avoid the use of herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, or other synthetic pesticides, they produce natural wines that are the pure expression of their terroir. We prioritize soil cultivation, grass cover, leaf removal, and above all, meticulous monitoring of each plot because, in organic farming, everything is based on anticipation and prevention. Vinification is carried out naturally, without artificial interventions, thanks to the winemaker’s expertise. The renewed harmony between man and his vines allows our wines to express their full essence.
