“A Cérons in all its glory: fresh and well-balanced”
The 2018 vintage tested the team’s patience. The first six months of the year were marked by incessant rain and mild temperatures. On July 15, the vintage took a 180-degree turn with a very hot summer marked by drought. The harvest lasted from late August to late October, with the grapes reaching excellent ripeness. The exceptionally long harvest period without rainfall allowed us to harvest on a case-by-case basis. In the cellar, the juices are very consistent and have a beautiful color. It is therefore a unique vintage that, despite the extreme conditions, stands in the tradition of the great vintages.

Food and wine pairings
Appetizers, starters, main courses, cheeses, and desserts... The magic of a range of flavors that unfolds throughout a meal: open a well-chilled bottle for the aperitif and let the wine warm up as the courses are served, until dessert, when the wine will be at room temperature. Enjoy it with shrimp, mushrooms, poultry, cheeses, dried or fresh fruit, and of course, with a good foie gras…

About the wine:
Bright yellow with green highlights. The nose is elegant, with subtle fruit notes—apricots, peaches, lemon zest, and candied orange peel in the background—along with hints of vanilla. The palate is well-structured, with good tension and excellent length.

An elegant bottle. An intense yellow color that turns to straw gold. On the palate, a basket of fruits where lovely apricot flavors dominate, alongside exotic fruits and candied citrus. In the background, subtle notes of vanilla, honey, and caramel hint at meticulous winemaking and extended barrel aging. This results in a 2018 Cérons that is deep and dense from the first sip, characterized throughout by roundness, finesse, and style. I love how it opens up as it warms to room temperature, just as 1J1V recommends! A smart, budget-friendly alternative to classic Sauternes. A festive preview for an aperitif served with toasts of semi-cooked whole duck foie gras from Périgord.

A fine wine, complex and long on the palate... every bit as good as its neighbor, Sauternes!

Very nice. Not too round, with a nice acidity on the finish. I really liked the aroma of this wine.
