"Elegance, character, and purity of fruit!"

"A white wine soberly aged in vats, which delivers lively fruit on the nose and palate (grapes, white fruits, fresh apple). A wine that is full-bodied on the attack, then vibrant and carried by a beautiful acidity with mineral tones. An unadorned, precise and invigorating wine, to be enjoyed with a nice grilled fish." Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2023 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Long considered one of the appellation's flagship properties, this very large estate in the southern Graves region belongs to the Levêque family, who are also renowned brokers in the Bordeaux region. It is now managed by Hubert de Boüard (Château Angélus), who produces very typical red and white wines destined for great success. Both the red and white wines are very expressive, delicately aromatic, rather refined, and well-balanced. The Caroline cuvée, the estate's flagship cuvée with a well-established reputation, is rich yet elegant.

About the estate:

Created from scratch in 1967 by broker Henri Lévêque, this vineyard, which originally covered 2 hectares, is now a beautiful estate of nearly 100 hectares (HVE3 certified), currently run by the founder's daughter, Marie-Hélène Lévêque, advised since 2006 by Hubert de Boüard. A sure bet in Graves, with numerous Favorites its credit.

About the estate:

An iconic property in Podensac, in the heart of the Graves appellation, Chantegrive was created by Henri Lévêque. This historic Bordeaux wine broker began his adventure in 1966 with just two hectares of vines. Long a pioneer in the production of ambitious wines, Chantegrive experienced a slump in the early 2000s. The château, taken over by Marie-Hélène Lévêque with the advice of Hubert de Boüard since 2006, now produces wines that have regained their place among the appellation's finest. Launched in 2020, the Les Oiseaux range presents a cleverly modern and impulsive image of Graves wines.

About wine:

This textured wine is ripe and bursting with white fruit and citrus notes. Its impressive richness gives this slightly spicy wine its density. Drink from 2025 onwards.

About wine:

The nose is remarkably pure and precise. Green apples, limes, and a hint of minerality continue on the medium-bodied palate with fresh, moderate acidity. The finish is bone dry and supple. Sémillon and Sauvignon. Drink now.

About wine:

Château De Chantegrive Blanc 2022 is beautifully textured and elegant, with ripe tropical fruits, flowers, and menthol notes. I love the purity of its fruit, its good concentration, while remaining vibrant and light on its feet.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 91/100

About wine:

The citrus and dried verbena aromas bring their dynamism, character, and cheerfulness to a lively nose, underscored by notes of clementine leaf, spices, and flint. Like an iron fist in a velvet glove, the citrus flavors soften and evoke bergamot and citron in a tender, silky texture. The finish, which hesitates between a slight sweetness and a salty note, like a lemon candied with salt, brings savory flavors. 2024-2030

About wine:

Elegant nose with citrus, floral, and pear notes. The palate is supple and slightly rich, thanks to the Sémillon and aging on lees, with refreshing lemon aromas and a hint of pear. Without excessive liveliness, the wine is balanced, well-made, and offers a wide range of uses.

Yves Beck

About wine:

With good intensity, Chantegrive's bouquet reveals smoky nuances followed by fruity and floral notes. The wine is elegant and slightly creamy. A salty and lively finish ensures character and freshness.
