“A truly beautiful wine that pairs perfectly with a meal. Delicious!”

“Château Chantegrive’s top-tier white wine. A blend of white flower aromas and hints of verbena. Rich on the palate, with subtle vanilla notes and a full-bodied texture. The finish features pink grapefruit and lime. Moderate liveliness. A balance between restrained tension and fullness. A wine for fine dining. ” (Terre de Vins 2024) - A superb example of Bordeaux’s expertise in white wines. It’s delicious!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2023 guide) 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Long regarded as one of the appellation’s flagship estates, this vast property in the southern Graves region belongs to the Levêque family, who are also renowned wine merchants in the Bordeaux region. It is now managed by Hubert de Boüard (Château Angélus), who produces highly characteristic wines—both red and white—that are destined for great success. Both the red and white wines are highly expressive, delicately aromatic, rather refined, and well-balanced. The Caroline, the estate’s flagship wine with a well-established reputation, is rich yet never lacking in elegance.

Decanter

Decanter

Wine rated (2024 guide) 93/100

About the wine:

Like the classic style of the Lévêque family, this wine reveals pleasant flavors of lemon and lime, along with notes of linden, acacia, and, most notably, white peach. Aging in oak barrels with bâtonnage gives it richness and a savory toasty character. Ideal for more refined cuisine. 2025–2033

About the estate:

Founded from scratch in 1967 by wine merchant Henri Lévêque, this estate—which originally covered 2 hectares—is now a beautiful, cohesive property spanning nearly 100 hectares (HVE3-certified), currently managed by the founder’s daughter, Marie-Hélène Lévêque, who has been advised by Hubert de Boüard since 2006. A sure bet in Graves, with numerous " Favorites its credit.

About the estate:

An iconic estate in Podensac, at the heart of the Graves appellation, Chantegrive was founded by Henri Lévêque. This legendary Bordeaux wine merchant embarked on the venture in 1966, starting with just two hectares of vineyards. Long a pioneer in the production of ambitious wines, Chantegrive experienced a slump in the early 2000s. The château, taken over by Marie-Hélène Lévêque with the guidance of Hubert de Boüard since 2006, now produces wines that have regained their place among the appellation’s finest. Launched in 2020, the Les Oiseaux range offers a cleverly modern and spontaneous take on Graves wines.

Yves Beck

Wine rated (2024 guide) 92-94/100

About the wine:

The Caroline cuvée offers great finesse and complexity on the nose. Floral notes and hints of citrus are subtly complemented by light woody notes. On the palate, the wine combines density and character. Slightly salty on the attack, it displays beautiful aromatic expression and is supported by structuring acidity, while subtle bitter notes enhance the persistence of the finish. A truly beautiful wine that will shine during a meal and boasts excellent aging potential. A fine achievement. 2025–2038
