"Elegance, character, and pure fruit!"
“A white wine aged simply in tanks, offering lively fruit notes (grapes, white fruits, fresh apple) on both the nose and palate. A wine that is full-bodied on the attack, then vibrant and carried by a beautiful, mineral-tinged acidity. An unpretentious, precise, and invigorating wine, perfect for pairing with a delicious grilled fish.” (Hachette Guide – 2025 Edition)

Rated estate (2023 guide) 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Long regarded as one of the appellation’s flagship estates, this vast property in the southern Graves region belongs to the Levêque family, who are also renowned wine merchants in the Bordeaux region. It is now managed by Hubert de Boüard (Château Angélus), who produces highly characteristic wines—both red and white—that are destined for great success. Both the red and white wines are highly expressive, delicately aromatic, rather refined, and well-balanced. The Caroline, the estate’s flagship wine with a well-established reputation, is rich yet never lacking in elegance.

About the estate:
Founded from scratch in 1967 by wine merchant Henri Lévêque, this estate—which originally covered 2 hectares—is now a beautiful, cohesive property spanning nearly 100 hectares (HVE3-certified), currently managed by the founder’s daughter, Marie-Hélène Lévêque, who has been advised by Hubert de Boüard since 2006. A sure bet in Graves, with numerous " Favorites its credit.

About the estate:
An iconic estate in Podensac, at the heart of the Graves appellation, Chantegrive was founded by Henri Lévêque. This legendary Bordeaux wine merchant embarked on the venture in 1966, starting with just two hectares of vineyards. Long a pioneer in the production of ambitious wines, Chantegrive experienced a slump in the early 2000s. The château, taken over by Marie-Hélène Lévêque with the guidance of Hubert de Boüard since 2006, now produces wines that have regained their place among the appellation’s finest. Launched in 2020, the Les Oiseaux range offers a cleverly modern and spontaneous take on Graves wines.

About the wine:
The nose is remarkably pure and precise. Notes of green apple, lime, and a hint of minerality carry through to the medium-bodied palate, which features fresh, moderate acidity. The finish is bone-dry and supple. Sémillon and Sauvignon. Ready to drink now.

About the wine:
The Château De Chantegrive Blanc 2022 is beautifully textured and elegant, with ripe tropical fruit, floral notes, and hints of mint. I love the purity of its fruit and its good concentration, while remaining vibrant and light on the palate.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
Aromas of lemon and dried verbena bring vitality, character, and cheerfulness to a lively nose, underscored by notes of clementine peel, spices, and flint. Like an iron fist in a velvet glove, the citrus flavors soften and evoke bergamot and citron in a tender, silky texture. The finish, which balances between a light sweetness and a salty note—like a salt-cured lemon—adds savory depth. 2024–2030

About the wine:
An elegant nose with citrus, floral notes, and a hint of pear. On the palate, it is supple and slightly rich, thanks to the Sémillon and aging on the lees, with refreshing lemon aromas and a touch of pear. Without being overly lively, the wine is well-balanced, well-crafted, and versatile.
Yves Beck
Wine rated (2023 guide) 90-92/100
About the wine:
With good intensity, Chantegrive’s bouquet reveals smoky undertones followed by fruity and floral notes. The wine is elegant and slightly creamy. Its salty and lively finish ensures character and freshness.
