About the estate:

Long considered one of the appellation’s flagship estates, this very large property in the southern Graves region belongs to the Levêque family, who are also renowned wine brokers in the Bordeaux region. It is now managed by Hubert de Boüard (Château Angélus), who produces highly characteristic wines—both red and white—that are destined for great success. Both the red and white wines are very expressive, delicately aromatic, rather refined, and well-balanced. The Caroline, the estate’s flagship wine with a well-established reputation, is rich yet never lacking in elegance.

A white wine aged simply in tanks, offering lively fruit on both the nose and palate (grapes, white fruits, fresh apple). A wine that is full-bodied on the attack, then vibrant and carried by a beautiful, mineral-tinged acidity. Created from scratch in 1967 by wine merchant Henri Lévêque, this estate—which originally covered 2 ha—is now a beautiful, cohesive property spanning nearly 100 ha (HVE3-certified), currently run by the founder’s daughter, Marie-Hélène Lévêque, who has been advised by Hubert de Boüard since 2006. A sure bet in the Graves region, with numerous “ Favorites ” awards to its credit.

An iconic estate in Podensac, in the heart of the Graves appellation, Chantegrive was founded by Henri Lévêque. This long-standing Bordeaux wine merchant began the venture in 1966 with just two hectares of vineyards. Long a pioneer in the production of ambitious wines, Chantegrive experienced a slump in the early 2000s. The château, taken over by Marie-Hélène Lévêque with guidance from Hubert de Boüard since 2006, now produces wines that have regained their place among the appellation’s finest. Launched in 2020, the Les Oiseaux line offers a cleverly modern and spontaneous take on Graves wines.
