"A benchmark vintage for the appellation, in peak condition in its 2022 version!"

" A benchmark cuvée for the appellation, in peak condition in its 2022 vintage. The jury appreciated the clarity of the color and, above all, the exceptional, very pure nose, where the oak gives way to the brightness of the fruit (citrus, pineapple, almond). Continuing in the same vein, the palate delivers a creamy, full-bodied and luminous texture, supported by a very mouthwatering mineral acidity that stretches the fruit to infinity. A capital white wine." (Guide Hachette 2025)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2018 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

This brand, which combines the first names of Florence and Denis Dubourdieu, benefited from the expertise and reputation of the famous Bordeaux oenologist, who sadly passed away in 2016. The whites, which express the surprising minerality of a limestone terroir more than the varietal aromas of the local grape varieties, are incomparable. A small quantity of red wine, which is very carefully produced and now rivals the perfection of the white, is also produced. These are undoubtedly the stars of the appellation! The wines, both red and white (the white being better known due to its longer history), are close to perfection, regardless of the vintage. The white wines are characterized by great minerality, racy and pure aromas, volume, elegance, freshness, and irresistible balance. The red wines, classic and elegant, are equally impressive.

About wine:

A benchmark cuvée for the appellation, in peak condition in its 2022 version. The jury appreciated the clarity of the color and, above all, the exceptional, very pure nose, where the oak gives way to the brightness of the fruit (citrus, pineapple, almond). In keeping with this, the palate delivers a creamy, full-bodied and luminous texture, supported by a very mouthwatering mineral acidity that stretches the fruit to infinity. A capital white wine. 2025-2032

Rated estate (2023 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Well known to wine lovers, this estate is the work of the pope of Bordeaux white wines, oenologist Denis Dubourdieu, who died in 2016. For many years, Clos Floridène has undoubtedly been one of the appellation's sure values. The most surprising thing about its production is the profound classicism it expresses: far from the heavy caricatures of woody and overly exuberant whites often found in ambitious Bordeaux châteaux, Floridène white is a slender, straightforward wine, without artifice, of crystalline purity. The red, an original expression of Cabernet Sauvignon on limestone, possesses the same distinguished elegance. These wines can age perfectly for several years in the cellar.

About wine:

This estate, whose name is a portmanteau of the names of its creators Florence and Denis Dubourdieu (1982), is rich and barrel-fermented. The wine is full of ripe white fruit, set in a minerality and ripe fruit flavors. Drink from 2025.

Terre de Vins

Wine rated (2023 guide) 93-94/100

About wine:

This balanced and subtle wine has it all. The elegance of the bouquet with notes of white flowers, lemongrass, and a hint of minerality, but also a full-bodied and rich palate, finely textured, with a mentholated and salty freshness through to the finish. Perfect as an aperitif or with a meal. Very well made.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 93/100

About wine:

Pale color. Intense, refined, fruity, subtle, and fragrant nose. Hints of wild strawberry. Superb on the palate from the outset, with a lively, silky flavor, the wine rediscovers its delicate aromatic nuances on the finish. It continues to develop in the final moments and ends with a lingering, delicious, deep, and noble finish, with notes of Amalfi lemon. A marvel!

Review and opinion by Mr. MATHIEU W. Published on 04/27/2025

Bright yellow color. On the nose, ripe yellow fruit, honey, beeswax, citrus zest, vegetal notes, subtle wood notes, pleasantly stimulating on the nose. On the palate, good grip and fine acidity on the attack, juicy, citrus, grapefruit, full-bodied, slightly plump too, coating, good balance and elegance. Character, purity, and conviction. Good length too. An excellent, high-quality wine to accompany trout meunière or simply as a luxurious aperitif. Score: 17/20
