“A structured and promising wine! It will be interesting to watch it develop over time. ~ Yves Beck”

“The bouquet of Clos Floridène certainly reflects its aging, but this process clearly enhances the wine’s complexity by bringing out its various nuances, whether notes of anise, black berries, or mint. On the palate, the wine displays vigor and a certain breadth. It also stands out for its freshness, thanks to a structure that gives it spirit and a character that is both juicy and incisive. A structured and promising wine! It will be interesting to follow its evolution. ” (Yves Beck 2026)

Rated estate (2018 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)

About the estate:

This brand, named after Florence and Denis Dubourdieu, has benefited from the expertise and marketing acumen of the renowned Bordeaux oenologist, who sadly passed away in 2016. The whites, which express the astonishing minerality of a limestone terroir more than the varietal aromas of the local grape varieties, are incomparable. A small quantity of red wine, meticulously crafted and now matching the perfection of the white, is also produced. These are undoubtedly the stars of the appellation! The wines, both red and white (the white being better known due to its longer history), border on perfection, regardless of the vintage. The white wine offers great minerality, refined and exceptionally pure aromas, body, elegance, freshness, and an irresistible balance. The red, classic and elegant, is equally impressive.

Rated estate (2023 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Well known among wine enthusiasts, this estate is the creation of the “pope of Bordeaux white wines,” oenologist Denis Dubourdieu, who passed away in 2016. For many years now, Clos Floridène has undeniably been one of the appellation’s most reliable choices. The most striking aspect of the production lies in the profound classicism it expresses: far removed from the heavy, woody, and overly exuberant caricatures of white wines often found in ambitious Bordeaux châteaux, the Floridène white is a slender, straightforward wine, free of artifice, with crystalline purity. The red, an original expression of Cabernet Sauvignon on limestone, possesses the same distinguished elegance. These wines age beautifully for several years in the cellar.

About the wine:

The Clos Floridène 2025 is exceptionally refined. Silky, full-bodied, and fruity, with exceptional intensity, the Clos Floridène is a true delight. Notes of plum, black cherry, new leather, mocha, and licorice blend together perfectly. Superb.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 91/100

About the wine:

Deep purple color with violet highlights and a black core. A rich nose blending earthy minerality, pencil shavings, ripe blackberries, juicy plums, and black cherries. Hints of chocolate in the background. On the palate, the wine is well-balanced, with a refined woody touch, ripe tannins, and gentle acidity. A wine with aromas of ripe, fresh fruit and a very nice length.
