Château Respide-Médeville

Château Respide-Médeville is owned by , a distinguished family from the Sauternes region. René Médeville deserves credit for establishing himself as a leading producer of Sauternes wines in the Bordeaux region, using long-term preservation techniques that have made Château Gilette famous today. His son Christian succeeded him in 1959 and further developed the aging technique for the famous old vintages with the success we know today. He expanded his estates by incorporating Château Respide-Médeville, and soon established himself not only as an eminent vineyard technician, but also as an aesthete of the unique wine that is Sauternes.

Christian Médeville passionately manages the three estates: Château Gilette, Château Les Justices, and Château Respide-Médeville, and his efforts are bearing fruit. In 2004, his daughter Julie took up the torch with her husband, Xavier Gonet, an oenologist from a long-established family of Champagne winegrowers in the Côte des Blancs. Champagnes Gonet-Médeville was founded in 2000 on the basis of a 7.5-hectare vineyard of Premiers and Grands Crus and continues the family's winegrowing adventure with passion.
