Arsac Castle
As the heir to a family winemaking tradition spanning several generations, Philippe Raoux acquired Château d'Arsac in 1986. At the time, the property was in ruins, so he undertook the restoration of the buildings and the vineyard.

Château d’Arsac comprises 112 hectares of vineyards planted in a single block, with part of the estate in the Margaux appellation and the other part in the Haut-Médoc. It benefits from a favorable terroir: a sandy-gravelly hilltop mixed with a fairly thin layer of clay. Château d'Arsac thus produces two red wines: Château d'Arsac (Margaux) and Château Le Monteil d'Arsac (Haut-Médoc), as well as one white wine: Château d'Arsac Cuvée Céline (Bordeaux).

Philippe Raoux has not only built Château d’Arsac’s reputation on the quality of its wines but also as a place of creativity and openness to art. Every year since 1992, he has acquired a work of contemporary art: pieces by Claude Viallat, Niki de Saint Phalle, Bernard Pagès, and César, among others, have been incorporated into the Sculpture Garden surrounding the château.
