"This vintage confirms its outstanding success, with a style that we applaud, being easy to drink and refined on the palate. It is a wine with a very refined, delicate mouthfeel, which lingers on the palate with a harmonious succession of fresh flavors. Full of sparkle, it represents excellent value for money. Bettane & Desseauve
3-star rating (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
A new vat room and the arrival of the highly skilled Claire Villars-Lurton, who has introduced respectful and attentive viticultural practices, have enabled this Margaux classified growth to regain its rightful place. The 2018, 2019, and 2020 vintages illustrate the progress made by the estate. The wines continue to gain in finesse.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2019 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
Owned by the Ferrière family from the 18th century until 1914, this vineyard was leased from 1952 onwards by Alexis Lichine, who moved the winemaking operations to Lascombes. Purchased in 1988 by the Villard family, it was reborn in 1992 at the end of the lease. Completely renovated by Claire Villars-Lurton (Haut-Bages Libéral in Pauillac), the vineyard covers 20 hectares and is organically farmed.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 96/100
Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About wine:
This vintage confirms its outstanding success, with a style that we applaud, being easy to drink and refined on the palate. It is a wine with a very refined, delicate mouthfeel, which lingers on the palate with a harmonious succession of fresh flavors. Full of sparkle, it represents excellent value for money.
About the estate:
Ferrière is a very small estate, but it continues to forge its own path. Claire Villars-Lurton, who runs it, spares no effort: she has built a new winery, which has been operational since the 2013 harvest, and the vineyard has been certified biodynamic since 2015. The wines are gaining a little more density every year, offering a distinctive style without ever trying to show off. It is now a sure bet in Margaux.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 95/100
About wine:
This wine has a dense character, with rich fruit and blackberry flavors enhanced by tannins. Thanks to the warmth of Margaux, the wine is rich yet elegant. Drink from 2027 onwards. Organic and biodynamic. - Roger Voss
Vinous
Wine rated (2022 guide) 95+/100
About wine:
Ferrière 2020 is phenomenal. Black fruits, lavender, gravel, incense, and dark spices are just some of the many notes that develop. A wine with vertical and explosive energy, Ferrière is fabulous. The tannins are still a little harsh today. Readers will need to be patient, but all the ingredients are there for this 2020 to be superb. There is a sense of unbridled wildness in Château Ferrière that is extremely appealing.
James Suckling
Wine rated (2022 guide) 95/100
About wine:
The complex aromas of crushed berries, nuts, damp earth, and spices linger in a medium-bodied wine with chewy yet juicy tannins and a savory finish. It needs time to soften, but I like its character and intensity. 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. Made from biodynamically grown grapes certified by Demeter. Drink after 2025.
Terre de Vins
Wine rated (2021 guide) 95-96/100
About wine:
The nose is immediately smooth, followed by a beautiful attack of black fruits. It is round and full-bodied, with tannins endowed with a lovely sweetness. Blackcurrant mingles with roasted notes of coffee and chocolate. It is a successful combination of substance and finesse.
