Wine rated (2020 guide) 93-94/100
Rated 3*Stars (A high-quality product that serves as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
A very refined wine with no lack of body, featuring floral notes that are exemplary for the appellation, along with plenty of nuance and charm. Highly recommended for the price.
About the estate:
For the past 25 years, Laurent von der Heyden has demonstrated that he produces one of the most elegant Margaux wines in existence. Situated on Arsac’s finest gravel soils, Monbrison draws all its refinement from this terroir, serving as the perfect archetype of a delicate and velvety Margaux. Over the past few vintages, it has been a pleasure to note that the wines have become increasingly pure, precise, and vibrant. The 2015 was impressive, and the 2016 and 2018 vintages are just as impressive.

About the estate:
Acquired in 1922 by the American Robert M. David, this estate—founded in the 18th century and dominated by an elegant manor house—was revitalized in the 1980s by his grandson Jean-Luc Vonderheyden (who passed away in 1992). His brother, Laurent, now manages a 14-hectare vineyard in a single block south of Margaux.

Terre de Vins
Wine rated (2020 guide) 93-94/100
About the wine:
The nose is very powerful, with notes of blackberry. The attack is supple and very enticing. The wine doesn’t focus on length, but coats the palate with a complex array of aromas, ranging from tobacco and coffee to blackberry and raspberry. A beautiful Margaux!
