"The experts are unanimous: another splendid success, breathtaking, haute couture at its best and flawless..."

"It's true that one could get used to it, but it's always fascinating to see how much purity of fruit, depth, and complexity characterize Rauzan-Ségla's bouquet. The palate is not intimidated and responds with the same strategy: it is clear, precise, rich, and refined. Its tannins shine with their accuracy, relevance, and power. How can you say so much just by whispering? This wine is of rare finesse, yet imposing and powerful. It is quite simply a great wine... what am I saying? A Very Great Wine, like a high-speed train... but one that stops at every station to delight every palate!" Wine noted (guide 2023) 2* Favorite (Remarkable wine)

About wine:

2018 and 2019: a magnificent duo for Rauzan-Ségla, which has won two Favorites , but with wines of a slightly different style. In contrast to the relatively discreet bouquet of the 2018, the 2019 offers a powerful aromatic expression centered on toasted oak, gingerbread, and original scents of garrigue. After an attack that is as delicious as it is smooth, we find the beautiful tannic structure, ample and well-coated, of the 2018, which is matched by a long finish to guarantee very solid aging potential. 2027-2040

Wine rated (2023 guide) 97/100

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About wine:

2019 is another splendid success for this very distinguished vintage, which is both intense and ultra-civilized. It has continued to improve since the en primeur tasting and falls on the palate with obviousness and grace, like a haute couture dress.

About the estate:

Château Rauzan-Ségla is performing at a high level. We are struck by the brightness of the fruit in the 2019 and the wine's ability to digest its great maturity. It finishes with taffeta tannins, refreshing acidity, and a hint of mint; impressive in density, with fruit that is more candied than in 2018, but with plenty of charm and depth. It finishes with a hint of cocoa and very delicate tannins. We also had the opportunity to taste some more "ready-to-drink" vintages again, such as the 2010, which is in very good shape, and the 2006, which is fine and silky.

About wine:

The 2019 Château Rauzan-Ségla Grand Vin is magnificent, and it seems that this estate has been on a roll since 2015. A more elegant, ethereal, and complex Margaux, with a fragrant and complex style in its red, blue, and black fruits, as well as notes of white flowers, chalky minerality, and exotic spices. Haute couture at its best and flawless, medium-bodied to full-bodied, perfectly balanced and simply breathtaking in every way. It offers pleasure today, but will easily be drinkable for 30 years. 2022-2052

About the estate:

In great vintages, Château Rauzan-Ségla offers power, finesse, and balance all at once. Very typical of Margaux, it reveals a very silky palate when the oak is not too pronounced.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 96-97/100

About wine:

Born from a mosaic of marly terroirs, Rauzan-Ségla achieves a beautiful balance. Its class and finesse immediately transport us to Margaux. The texture is delicate, dense yet restrained, with an elegant mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and very fresh aromas of rosemary and elderberry. Very accomplished.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 97/100

About wine:

Silky, seductive, and sensual, the nose, with its blend of flowers, tobacco leaves, espresso beans, violets, roses, and red stone fruits, is already quite striking. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, fresh, lively, clean and pure, the fruit offers length, depth and complexity. But it will take a little time to fully express its essence. If you have a little patience, it will be worth the wait. Drink between 2030 and 2060.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 97/100

About wine:

Powerful, lots of blackcurrant and blueberry, sap-like, strong backbone, great complexity on the mid-palate, creamy berries and complementary rich tannins. Long and persistent finish. An exceptional effort for the vintage.
