"Instant charm"

"The 2019 Siran S presents a light nose of red fruit, slightly earthy in style. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins and good density, and fairly structured on the finish. A highly recommended second wine. " (Vinous Neal Martin - 2021)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

This Margaux vineyard, located on the beautiful gravel soils of Labarde, has been managed by Édouard Miailhe since 2007. Siran wines are always charming in their youth and become more complex with age, with notes of old rose and spices giving them finesse and elegance. Siran wines could be classified as Margaux classics. Since the 2015 vintage, there has been a slight shift in style, which now tends towards extreme power. To be continued.

Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Formerly owned by Toulouse-Lautrec's great-grandmother, Ch. Siran became part of the Miailhe family in 1859. Since 2007, Édouard Miailhe has been at the helm. The vineyard covers 36 hectares: 9 hectares in Bordeaux Supérieur, 2 hectares in Haut-Médoc, and 25 hectares in Margaux, south of the appellation area, on the gravelly plateau of Labarde; a terroir of such high quality that it would undoubtedly have earned it a place in the famous 1855 classification had the Miailhe family arrived earlier.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

This superbly located Margaux vineyard deserves to be ranked among the classified growths, especially since, under the leadership of Edouard Miailhe, it has risen to its highest level. Its remarkable terroir, located in the southernmost commune of the appellation (Labarde), extends over a superb plateau of siliceous gravel. Tasting the older vintages that the château is fortunate to have in its wine cellar gives an insight into the full potential of the cru. The last decade has seen it reach truly remarkable levels that will age beautifully.

Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2022 guide) 90/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About wine:

The nose is fruity and offers a subtle power as well as a hint of racy minerality. There are notes of fresh strawberry, raspberry, and, more subtly, pulpy black berries, combined with hints of licorice, chocolate, and subtle toasted notes. The palate is fruity and offers freshness, a lovely acidity, a certain delicacy, and roundness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/tart redcurrants, tart/crunchy strawberries and, more subtly, juicy/tart blueberries, combined with a touch of fresh/crunchy black berries, racy minerality and subtle hints of licorice, cocoa, toast and a very discreet hint of tobacco (in the background). The tannins are supple.
