With its deep ruby color, Château du Tertre’s second wine offers intense aromas of dark fruit and sweet spices on the nose, which are echoed on the palate. With a silky texture and well-integrated tannins, it is a charming and elegant wine. A real success! Orders of 12 bottles of this wine are shipped in a wooden case.

Rated estate (2017 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)

About the estate:

Though somewhat secluded, Château du Tertre occupies a single, unbroken plot on a splendid hill of siliceous gravel. It has been magnificently restored and renovated by its Dutch owner, Éric Albada Jelgersma. Its aromatic character—very fresh and elegant—owes much to the proportion of excellent Cabernet Franc in the vineyard’s blend. Excellent value for money.

Rated estate (2017 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Under the leadership of its director, Alexander Van Beck, Château du Tertre has established itself as one of Margaux’s most reliable wines. Following its acquisition by Eric Albada Jelgersma, the estate underwent a profound transformation and modernization. Lower yields and significant investments have produced a full-bodied, lively wine that fully justifies its classification. The most recent vintages have proven particularly successful, maintaining a straightforward style—sometimes a bit austere—but aging well, thanks to a significant proportion of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc in the blend.
