With its deep ruby color, Château du Tertre’s second wine offers intense aromas of black fruit and sweet spices on the nose, which are echoed on the palate. With a silky texture and well-integrated tannins, it is a charming and elegant wine. Very well done! Orders of 12 bottles of this wine are shipped in a wooden case.

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2017 guide): 3*Stars (High-quality production that serves as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
Though somewhat secluded, Château du Tertre is situated on a single, splendid hillock of siliceous gravel and has been magnificently restored and renovated by its Dutch owner, Éric Albada Jelgersma. Its aromatic, very fresh, and elegant character owes much to the proportion of excellent Cabernet Franc in the vineyard’s blend. Excellent value for the price.

Rated estate (2017 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
Under the leadership of Alexander Van Beck, its director, Château du Tertre has established itself as one of Margaux’s most reliable wines. Following its acquisition by Eric Albada Jelgersma, the estate underwent a profound transformation and modernization. Lower yields and significant investments have resulted in a full-bodied, lively wine that fully justifies its classification. The most recent vintages have proven particularly successful, with a style that remains straightforward—sometimes a bit austere—but ages well, thanks to a significant proportion of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc in the blend.
