"A wine for connoisseurs!"

"Almost Burgundian in its floral aroma, which is not at all overwhelmed by a pronounced but elegant woodiness. Delicate and smooth, it has a lively finish, unlike most of the 2016 vintages. Long and original, this is a wine for connoisseurs." A legend! (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve) Delivery in wooden crates for orders of 6 bottles of this wine.

Wine rated 17/20 (Reference wine)

Rated estate (2017 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About wine:

Almost Burgundian in its floral aroma, which is not at all overwhelmed by pronounced but elegant oak. Delicate and smooth, it has a lively finish, unlike most 2016 wines, which tend to be more one-dimensional. Long and original, this is a wine for connoisseurs.

About the estate:

Somewhat isolated but situated on a splendid ridge of siliceous gravel, Château du Tertre has been magnificently restored and renovated by its Dutch owner, Eric Albada Jelgersma. Its aromatic character, very fresh and elegant, owes much to the proportion of excellent Cabernet Franc in the blend. Excellent value for money.

Wine rating (2019 guide) 17.5/20 Favorite

Rated estate (2017 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About wine:

The 2016 vintage is a wonderful surprise. It is well-defined and precise, very close to fresh fruit and perfectly balanced. A Margaux full of smoothness and definition.

About the estate:

Under the leadership of Alexander Van Beck, its director, Château du Tertre has established itself as one of Margaux's sure bets. After its purchase by Eric Albada Jelgersma, the estate underwent a profound transformation and modernization. Lower yields and significant investment have resulted in a full-bodied, lively wine that fully justifies its classification. The latest vintages have been particularly successful, with a consistently straightforward style that is sometimes a little austere but ages well, thanks to a significant proportion of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc in the blend.

About wine:

Extremely deep and mature nose with aromas of dried fruit, chocolate, and plum that linger into a full body, round and supple tannins, and a savory finish. A rich and tannic structure to the wine. Try after 2024.
